CARPENTRY & WIRING
Once
the hull is complete, it is moved into the Carpentry Shop. Here,
the boat is completely sub-floored. The floor joists are placed on
16-inch centers and covered with plywood to make ready for the exterior
walls.
Once
the exterior walls are set in place, the roof supports are set and the
first plywood roof is installed. At this stage, the boat is ready for
interior walls to be placed and for the cuddy to be installed.
All
interior walls are 2 x 4-inch stud walls, all on 16-inch centers.
When the walls are in place, the electrical wiring (Sharpe uses only
Coast Guard Approved wire in all our boats) is installed throughout.
