| Your building
process begins when you first meet with a sales associate to finalize
all the details involved with building a custom houseboat. Here
you will detail all the options associated with your new boat, along
with customizing your floor plan and selecting your interior and
exterior colors for your new floating home on the water. Once all
of the critical fine points are established, your boat will go onto
the production line. |

 |
| Your boat
starts in the fabrication department with the finest aluminum sheets
available. Sharpe Houseboats uses extruded aluminum bracing in your
hull to insure the best stability on the water. The extruded aluminum
provides the customer with the best foundation to start the construction.
Once the interior bracing is added and every seam is welded on the
inside the hull is flipped over and every seam is welded on the
outside. This inside/outside welding insures strength. |
| Once the hull
is complete, it is moved into the Carpentry Shop. In the Carpentry
Shop, the boat is completely sub-floored. The floor joists are placed
on 16-inch centers and covered with plywood to make ready for the
exterior walls. Once the exterior walls are set in place, the roof
supports are set and the fir plywood roof is installed. At this
stage, the boat is ready for interior walls to be placed and for
the cuddy to be installed. All interior walls are 2 x 4-inch stud
walls, all on 16-inch centers.
When the walls are in place, the electrical wiring (Sharpe uses
only Coast Guard Approved wire in all our boats) is installed
throughout.
Now, that the interior walls are installed, your boat is ready
for windows and for the exterior roof to be hand-layered in fiberglass.

Sharpe uses only solid wood inside each custom boat we build.
We use solid wood trim, interior bi-fold and pocket doors, paneling,
and cabinets throughout.
Sharpe has many qualified and experienced personnel associated
with each department on its production line. Once the boat is
inspected in the Carpentry Shop, it is moved into the Final Finish
Department for completion.

|
This is where the engines, generator, appliances, floor and window
coverings, plumbing, canvas and rails are installed.
This is a fun time to visit the factory to see how your boat
is progressing and to see the attention to detail that is paid
to each boat that comes through our production line.

Each custom stripe pattern on every houseboat is painted with
Dupont Imron‚ exterior paint to insure long-lasting beauty and
integrity.
Each houseboat is fitted with Sunbrella‚ canvas on the exterior
to provide custom color selection and the best canvas available
in the industry.
Sharpe makes and installs all of the custom draperies for each
boat. We feel this provides internal control on quality and insures
that your boat will be delivered on time. Each drape, bedspread,
and cornice board is detailed to meet customer selections by our
experienced drapery personnel.

|
Sharpe also fabricates, in-house, each fiberglass component we
use. This provides for a quality product and control of the manufacturing
cycle.
We have an in-house parts department which helps control all
the parts that go into each houseboat we build. This insures that
only quality parts are used to manufacture each boat. Sharpe has
always observed that "You have to have good people to produce
a quality product," and we are proud of the people who work here.
|
|
We have our own delivery teams who transport each boat to its
home port for set-up. Sharpe's delivery personnel assemble the
boat and instruct the new captain and first mate on all the safety
factors and operational procedures that will bring many memorable
moments to the new owners.
We invite you to become a member of the Sharpe family.
